Long-term agreements on public health initiatives
Klíníkin welcomes a new long-term agreement with Icelandic Health Insurance, which ensures an increased number of procedures and shorter waiting lists.
Klíníkin Ármúla ehf. has signed a three-year contract with Icelandic Health Insurance for the performance of joint replacement, back, laparoscopic, and breast reduction surgeries. The agreement, which is the first of its kind, is the result of an open procurement process and marks a milestone in the state's cooperation with private healthcare services.
The main objective of the agreement is to improve patients' access to necessary services, shorten waiting lists, and relieve pressure on public hospitals. Under the agreement, approximately 1,000 surgeries are guaranteed on an annual basis, with Klíníkin playing a key role in performing joint replacements and other specified procedures.
For patients, this new agreement means increased predictability and easier access to important and life-improving surgeries with SÍ coverage.
Minister of Health, Alma D. Möller, welcomes these agreements, where the interest of patients, quality of service, and efficiency are prioritised.
Klíníkin is proud of the trust placed in us with this agreement and looks forward with optimism to the future in serving patients in Iceland. We are ready to take on this important task in cooperation with Icelandic Health Insurance to ensure that the nation has access to the best healthcare available.
