Jón Ívar Einarsson, a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, says that the demand for endometriosis surgeries is much greater than the healthcare system can handle, with about 188 women currently on the waiting list for the year. If nothing changes, the waiting time could double from about one year to two years. Klíníkin has requested a meeting with Icelandic Health Insurance regarding this.
