Kristín Jónsdóttir
Specialist in general surgery
Kristín is a general surgeon who also focuses on problems related to the lower gastrointestinal tract.
She graduated with a medical degree from the University of Iceland in 2006.
She lived and worked in Sweden for 11 years. First in Västerås (2011-2018) where she obtained her specialist certification in general surgery in 2016, and then in Uppsala where she worked as a specialist in colorectal surgery.
Alongside her work at Klíníkin, Kristín works as a surgeon at the Akureyri Hospital.
Kristín treats a variety of problems. Most notably inguinal and umbilical hernias, gallbladder surgeries, and pilonidal sinus surgery. She also treats colorectal problems, e.g., haemorrhoids, anal fissures (fissura ani), fistulas, constipation, and faecal incontinence.
