Friðrik Thor Sigurbjörnsson
Specialist in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine
Friðrik grew up during his first years in Búðardalur, where his father practised family medicine, before moving to Reykjavík. He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Iceland in 2009 and began working in the anaesthesia and intensive care department at Landspítali at Hringbraut after completing his internship in 2010. He worked in intensive care medicine at Ealing Hospital in London from 2012-2013 and then headed to Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm where he completed his specialisation in 2015.
Friðrik worked as a specialist at Karolinska for two years after completing his specialisation, primarily in anaesthesia for coronary artery and heart valve surgeries as well as intensive care for cardiac patients. He moved back to Iceland in the autumn of 2017.
